Ulcerative Colitis

Ulcerative Colitis

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation and ulcers in the lining of the colon and rectum. It usually follows a relapsing and remitting course.

Liver & HPB Surgery

Diverticulitis

Diverticulitis occurs when small pouches (diverticula) in the colon become inflamed or infected. It may range from uncomplicated inflammation to abscess, fistula or perforation.

Gastro Cancer Surgery

Acute Mesenteric Ischemia

Acute mesenteric ischemia is a serious condition in which blood supply to the intestine suddenly decreases or stops, causing intestinal injury. Early diagnosis and treatment are critical.

Lower GI Bleeding

Lower GI Bleeding

Lower gastrointestinal bleeding refers to bleeding originating from the colon, rectum or anus. Common causes include diverticular disease, haemorrhoids, polyps, inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer.

Colorectal Surgery

Colonic Obstruction

Colonic obstruction occurs when the passage of intestinal contents through the colon becomes blocked. Common causes include colorectal cancer, strictures, volvulus and severe diverticular disease.

Colonic Perforation

Colonic Perforation

Colonic perforation is a hole or rupture in the colon that allows intestinal contents to leak into the abdominal cavity. It can rapidly cause peritonitis and sepsis and requires urgent treatment.
